IDM-13: Authenticate to a resource’s OpenStack API
Executive Summary:
A researcher or educator (hereafter referred to as “the user”) wants to use his/her community identity to obtain credentials that can be used to authenticate with the OpenStack API on a community resource.
User Importance Summary:
Researchers are increasingly using externally hosted ("cloud") virtual machines to extend their computing environments without requiring capital investment. Using a community identity to access API credentials is simpler for current community members than establishing brand-new identities.
Target Communities and Sizes:
Community members who develop applications that use OpenStack resources - 10 < N < 100
Community members who develop science gateways that use OpenStack resources - 10 < N < 100
