 Description

From SDIACT-187/SDIACT-216 Test report at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1m-s09DUQAtr0a4huTxfF1q2SNMCzeSbJQ6RO9gsaI-U/edit:

Installation for both the gateway_submit_attributes and xdusage tools required several error prone steps. The testing team recommends a more automated installation procedure and/or a debug option to help troubleshoot configuration issues. For example, the gateway_submit_attributes doesn't return the gateway response (via the api) for some very obvious errors like authentication, if it doesn't work, your best clue would be to run the perl script with : perl -d ... and do a deep dive debugging session on the data structures ($rec in particular is helpful )

The spool file in gateway_submit_attributes will not get purged unless the perl script is successful in uploading to the database, if you have other problems (malformed request, authentication...) then the spool file builds up and becomes PART of the problem. cat /dev/null > spoolfile is your only recourse

From 2/15/2017 call with Derek, add an overview of how gateway_submit_attributes works and where it should be installed.
