 Description

From XCI Test report:

Minor fixes are needed for the xdresourceid installation instructions.

This is another install guide that references "your login kit's software directory". It tells you to copy your xdresourceid.conf file there. This should be removed from the instructions. You config file needs to be in /etc or <install_dir>/etc if you installed to a different location.

There are some problems with the module file created by the rpm. If you install to the default location the rpm will create a module file with the line:

prepend-path PATH /bin

The problem is, when you unload the xdresourceid module it removes /bin from you path. The is actually more of a modules bug and might be fixed in a newer version but it's something to be aware of and perhaps warn the user.

If you install the rpm to a different location then the rpm created module file will set the man path incorrectly. It will set it to:

<install_dir>/man

It should set it to:

<install_dir>/usr/share/man/

The last item in the install guide instructs you to look in "docs/INSTALL_Testing" for instructions on testing the software. This file/directory isn't in the rpm so this line should just be removed. Besides, testing this software is straight forward and I think they could replace that line with

module load xdresourceid

xdresourceid -c
