The SPF was concerned with the input to the XCI use case pipeline, which seems neither sufficiently populated, or properly vetted to match use cases with likely adoption. The current focus seems to be on end users engaged through CEE and ECSS; it seems likely that neither trainees nor graduate students struggling with a code are likely to have a broad view of needed infrastructure component changes. The SPF recommends that XCI instead look to staff at Service Providers (across all levels!) and the Forum itself for input and priorities as to useful XSEDE components. SPs have a broad view across users and are much closer to operations. Again, the SPF would welcome quarterly meetings with XCI to gather input and discuss priorities.
