Community Software Repository (CSR) yes The Community Software Repository (CSR) provides features that allow Service Providers (SPs) and researchers to make known the specific simulation and data analysis applications and tools that are available for use, either on SP resources or available in other ways. This is an important piece of ensuring that the right simulation and data analysis applications are available on resources for use as described in this use case.
Service Provider Batch Processing Services yes The batch processing systems provided by XSEDE Service Providers (SPs) are the front-end interface to most of XSEDE's computational power. This is how the researcher submits simulations for processing.
XSEDE Single Sign-On Hub yes The XSEDE Single Sign-On Hub (SSO Hub) provides a common mechanism for logging on to XSEDE Service Provider (SP) resources, particularly those that offer batch processing, as described in this use case. This is how the researcher logs into the computational resources.
XSEDE User Portal (XUP) yes The XSEDE User Portal is XSEDE's primary Web interface and documentation source. It provides features that allow researchers to discover which data analysis applications and tools are available on each XSEDE resource and how to use them, and this is an important piece of ensuring that the necessary data analysis applications and tools are available on XSEDE resources as described in this use case.
